Ikoner innehåller mer än 600 foton ur fotografen Larsåke Thuressons arkiv om 65 000 foton. Från början av 1960-talet fram till mitten av 70-talet fotograferade Larsåke cirka 100 utländska och 200 inhemska sångartister och rock/popgrupper, varav otaliga foton publicerades i veckopressen och ett stort antal kom att användas som singel- och LP-konvolut. Boken innehåller unika foton på ikoner som bl.a. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Tom Jones, Janis Joplin, Cher, Birgit Nilsson, Cornelis Vreeswijk, Björn & Benny och Ted Gärdestad, varav många är tagna i unika och udda miljöer.
