BESKRIVELSE:
This book is about the recent history of the USSR, from the 20th party congress in 1956 to the end in 1991. I have chosen this period, due to the wrangles that have arisen in the labour movement, regarding the posture of Congress in 1956, and Perestroika and Glasnost in 1985.
It is necessary to create clarity and overcome contradictions, divisions and discouragements. In order to understand the development, it is necessary to use the dialectical and historical materialism in a creative process, where concepts and categories change along the way. If we look at bourgeois historians, there are a number of common features. They use a descriptive method in which events and people are portrayed in a continuous process. They see the history of capitalism and socialism as parallel processes, without addressing the dialectics between them.
One cannot depict the history of socialism, without depicting the interaction with capitalism and vice versa. Therefore, the book is also built on this method, where important events in socialism affect capitalism and vice versa. It's like a game of chess, where you have to think several moves in advance, in order not to be made checkmate.
